Toxic Games

Toxic Games – Award-Winning Game Designer and Producer. Dan is the Managing Director and Co-founder of Toxic Games. Securing investment from Indie Fund straight out of University, Dan went on to create the award-winning indie games, Q.U.B.E, and was able to set up a full time game studio.

Toxic Games have now been a client of Plus Accounting since 2016 and they came to us after a friend in the games industry recommended the firm and Luke Thomas.

Since then they have used services such as VAT Administration, Bookkeeping, Year End Accounts, Xero set up and support and general business advice.

When asked how we as a firm have helped develop the gaming studio, Dan replied;

“As an independent game studio, we need to focus our attention and creative energy on delivering high-quality games. Plus leaves us safe in knowing that our accounts are being handled and that everything is in order, which makes this easier and spares more time and resources for what really matters in our company.

The team has high touch communication and are always responsive to our questions and needs. They respond quickly via email and are always happy to jump on a call to discuss or explain things in further detail.

Xero is a fantastic application which allows us to effortlessly create and monitor invoices, add expenses and receipts, and track spending effectively.

Plus help in monitoring our invoices and with bookkeeping of company finances. This allows us to analyse company expenditure but also know where and when revenue is due to come in which helps control cash flow”.

Since becoming a client of Plus Accounting we have helped the studio with their Video Games Tax Relief claims and provided valuable insights into the company’s Corporation Tax, expenses, bookkeeping and VAT returns.

When asked whether they would recommend the firm Dan answered;

“Most definitely. We have been through several accounting firms in the past and Plus has been by far the best we’ve worked with. They provide all the knowledge and insights required and are extremely helpful. We deal with Hayley, Emma, Debbie and Luke on a regular basis, and are all very friendly, easy to communicate with and provide clear and concise information”.

Dan also pointed out that the gifts they receive when recommending others to us is a “nice touch”.
