COVID-19 Business Impact Updates

COVID-19 Business Impact

We are living in unprecedented and very challenging times and it is hard to keep up with the pace of change which is now measured in hours and days rather than weeks and months.  Despite that, the team at Plus Accounting will do whatever is possible to continue to support our clients and community with information and advice and we have written a series of ‘Business Impact Updates’ as the Government have announced their latest guidance.

We explain in more detail how you can utilise the number of grants and support schemes now available, including the Job Retention Scheme, the Self-Employed Support Scheme, Coronavirus Business Interruption Loans, Small Business Grants and much more. It is importance to understand the requirements and implications of these initiatives before going ahead and as accountants we are hear to support you in making these decisions.

There has been a lot of momentum gathering around the problems being faced by those people who have not been provided with the “safety nets” afforded by the Job Retention Scheme (JRS) and the Self-employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS). The headline groups involved are director/shareholders who receive most of their pay through dividends, the newly self-employed and persons who were in between jobs after 28 February – and there are others. However, it is to be hoped that the Government will take notice of the “forgotten ones” and in the pursuit of fairness, provide the same level of support to them that the majority of the population is receiving.
