How does Hubdoc work with Xero?

What is Hubdoc?

Hubdoc is an app included within your Xero subscription, it allows you to extract data from your purchase invoices. This information is then exported to Xero, with a copy attached, ready to be matched to the payment from the bank feed.

How does Hubdoc work?

You can either use the mobile app, email or scan your documents into Hubdoc. There is also the option to fetch invoices from certain suppliers, such at BT or Travis & Perkins.

Once the documents are imported into Hubdoc (for each new supplier you will be required to update the details of the supplier, account code and VAT rate) and the supplier has been set up and saved, Hubdoc will automatically use these same details on future invoices.

You can also choose to auto-sync particular suppliers, this means that Hubdoc will configure and publish the documents direct to Xero without you manually exporting them into the system.

Why should you use Hubdoc?

Using Hubdoc will save you time in data entry as well as avoiding any potential posting errors. It also means you can clear out those paper copies!

What next?

To activate Hubdoc, if you pay for your Xero subscription, just go to the dropdown under your organisation name and select Hubdoc. Agree to the terms and conditions, click ‘I’m new to Hubdoc’ and then click ‘small business’.

If Plus Accounting pay the subscription on your behalf, please contact us and we will arrange for this to be activated.
