What is the iZettle Add-On and how does it integrate with Xero?

10th December 2015

What is it?

iZettle is a point of sale app which you can use to run your business, linking a smartphone, tablet and a till.

What does it do?

Detailed product library on a Smartphone/ tablet app

Use the app to process sales and payments using a card reader plugged into your device

Links to a main till for printing receipts

Follow up on your sales with various detailed reports on your activity

Individual log ins for staff

Connects to Xero to record all sales and deposit data

Approved by Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) and meets all requirements just like a traditional card terminal.

How can it help you and your business?

You create your product library for your products and organise them to speed up payment options for you and your customers.

You can use the card reader on the go or in your store. If you use the app in store you can also link to a main till and receipt printer. There is even an option to email a receipt direct to your customer and save your carbon footprint by reducing your paper output.

The basic card reader is free, and you only pay a small percentage fee per card transactions. No fixed fees just a percentage between 1.5% and 2.75% depending on your monthly turnover.

iZettle works with Xero and automatically imports your sales data so that there is no need for a second recording of this information into your bookkeeping package.

Both Xero and iZettle have great reporting tools, iZettle which collates all your sales can produce reports such as your best selling products and returning customers.

By using iZettle out on the go at say, events or customer premises where you would normally only deal with cash sales, this product gives you the flexibility to offer more payment services there. This can increase the sales volume and payment times, which is great for cashflow management.
