Fast Food Franchises

3rd June 2016

Fast Food outlets are one of the core components of the UK’s franchise industry and the fast food industry is big business in the UK. With Britain’s spend on fast food exceeding £29bn a year and spending on pizza predicted to grow to £7.6bn by the year 2020 it seems that the Italian staple is high on the menu.

The growth of this industry has been accelerated by rapid expansion from the likes of Papa Johns, Domino’s Pizza and Pizza Hut Delivery along with the rise of new chains such as Love Pizza, Apache Pizza and Slice. Another boost for the industry has come from the rise of Mobile Culture. With most chains now having apps available on mobile phones and tablets it has never been easier for customers to order their favourite take-away.

Pizza Hut Delivery are one of the UK’s leading pizza franchises with over 350 stores across the UK and Ireland and have recently announced plans to open an additional 200 outlets by 2020 investing £40m and creating an estimated 3,000 jobs.

Whilst the big names might dominate the market, there is still room for new franchises to grab their slice of the action. A brand new pizza franchise called Slice recently opened its first store in Cardiff. With the aim of competing with the big boys Slice intends to open a number of additional outlets across the UK over the next few years.

With a fast growing industry and rapid expansion from the key players now is a great time to get involved in the fast food industry.
