£2,000 Employment Allowance - Are you eligible?

17th April 2014

All you need to know about - £2,000 Employment Allowance

From 6 April 2014, the government will be making an allowance available to employers which is worth up to £2,000 per year.

The new Employment Allowance will give employers a £2,000 deduction against their national insurance liability and HMRC have said that to obtain this allowance, employers simply need to tick a box on their payroll software.  No employer’s national insurance will then be payable, starting with the amount due in May 2014, until the £2,000 allowance has been used up.

HMRC have said that there are some businesses which will not be eligible for this allowance and therefore, it is important to be clear of your entitlement before making the claim.  Further information regarding eligibility can be found on the HMRC website

If you would like to know more about making a claim and require some further guidance, please get in touch and I will be happy to discuss the options available to you.
